Hi! I'm Erik von Stackelberg.

I'm a 23-year-old aspiring designer-nerd/electronic-musician/bedroom-DJ/student-of-media-theory/proud Canadian & staunch civil society advocate. I grew up in North Bay, Ontario, Canada and graduated from the University of Western Ontario and Fanshawe College with an Hons BA in Media, Information & Technoculture and a diploma in multimedia design. My work spans the nonprofit & commercial sectors and centres on web design & development, branding & identity design, and motion graphics, but also involves sound design, 3D, and photography.

What is DesigntoLove?

DesigntoLove seeks to fill a need within the volunteer sector - a need for good, functional design. My experience working with various volunteer organizations has shown me that valuable time, effort, and funds go into hiring commercial design outfits for marketing material. In fact, many of these organizations simply cannot afford a website, identity design, proper print advertising, or the like. Ideally, DesigntoLove will eventually act as a networking resource that connects aspiring designers with charitable/non-profit organizations (and vice-versa). Volunteerism is most effective when it's mutually beneficial: designers want to design, and non-profits need free design to relieve funding for their own mandates. What is FusedEffects?

FusedEffects is an art-showcase website featuring the work of myself and Jerry Low, my friend from Vancouver. We started FusedEffects for fun in high school as a way to showcase what were then our very first digital artworks, digital photographs, designs, and music productions.
